Dale, thank you for your post.
I'm embarassed to report the result - in my defense, I inherited this computer 
from a 
family member and didn't think to check the specs. But this PC has only 128MB 
of RAM.
I've ordered a RAM upgrade - after I install it, I'll give it another go and 
report the results 
back here.
