Hi Kay,
http://website.openoffice.org/tryouts/Kay/projects/
You're doing very good work Kay!
Just a few points:
* Ingrid and Bernhard on your concerns/objections to posting the
project leads and the "short description". I left the leads in because
as I said, it's a nice short hand way of sending e-mail and I think
these folks deserve mention as often as possible, ;). And it gives
visitors a nice warm fuzzy feeling to see there's actual people out
there that are assigned to these projects.
You can use the title attribute for the shortname: <a href="uri"
title="short name">Full name</a> ... it will show up as a tooltip. Maybe
you could move the project leads to the most right side of the screen,
grouping project name and description more together...
* Bernhard's comments about Localization and the difference between
l10n and i18n... Ya got me! I have NO idea what these things mean...if
someone wants to send me somthing nice to dump into the description
box, please do! :)
I think their website explains it quite well:
http://l10n.openoffice.org/#l10n (~translating, offering support to a
specific language group)
http://l10n.openoffice.org/#l18n (~building support for different
languages and their (writing) styles)
And, oddly/confusingly in the Language section, there seems to be 2
kind of like home pages for the NLC folks -- the one I've linked to
here in this new display and the "official" home page which is WAY
different.
You mean this: http://projects.openoffice.org/native-lang.html
vs.
http://l10n.openoffice.org/languages.html
?
Well, I very much support your decision for inclusion of the former link ;)
OK, this is it from me for a week or so as I am out of town until the
New Year! So, Happy Holidays to all and this has been a fun little
project! :)
Well, I wish you and all the same! All best wishes!
g.,
Maarten
