I never used to use this at all, but have ended up setting it as my homepage for my secondary account. I like having the recent comments module there for me to see and would really really like to have the Inbox module doing the same thing for my messages. In fact, if that was on there, I wouldn't need a separate birthdays module or anything like that because I would be able to just set that as a notification. I don't use the writers block or any of the community promo bit, but I like the quick links and the LJ announcements list.
