I generally agree with this, but I would point out that I'm pretty
experienced and I regularly go through the main page to get to my
journal. I use a shared computer at work and can't bookmark anything
LJ related here. It easiest to just type in the URL to the main page
and go from there.

That said, I don't need much. A link to my journal, to my profile, to
my firends page, my update my journal. I like being able to see easily
if there are any messages in my inbox. And recent comments are nice.

I also kind of like the community spotlight feature. No idea if you
guys are planning to do something similar, though, and I can live
without it.
