Hi K,

To be honest, I havn't played 19th-C guitar for over a year as I have been
too busy with vihuela and lute, but I hope to find time soon to get back
into it. From what I remember, I found that using Sor's technique (or at
least what I imagine his technique to be, as close as I can get to it) gave
me a good natural balance between voices. I think this had a lot to do with
the way the thumb plays the bass strings. On the other hand (so to speak) I
found it difficult to play his Op.9 at the speed people are used to hearing
it today. This led me to the conclusion that either I was not playing well
enough in Sor's style, or that the piece should be played slower than we
have become used to hearing.

Is this your experience?

There are some details in your post that are of interest to me. I wonder if
you refer to some technical solutions or just to your "feeling" of easiness
and appropriateness?

Best Regards
Krzysztof
