Ah, yes... The wonderful world of SOX.... *sigh.... I often get questions from trading partners regarding when we want the ASN for any shipment - and My answer is always the same - as soon as you can provide it - up to 365 days in advance (that's My purge date)...
The irony of SOX, however, is that our internal MIS Auditor sits right next to Me and I get to hear ALL about all the dramas involved... The SOX auditors LOVE Me, as I have so much access to our internal systems - because of multiple job requirements. And when there is an upgrade to our EDI system, I get to request the upgrade, test the upgrade, approve the upgrade and sign off on the upgrade completion...! The only thing I don't do in that upgrade process is actually load the upgrade into the system.... Craig E. We have SOX issues if we don't - the trailer actually has to leave the yard. Then the clock starts. And today, it's all batch, and we're hobbled by the batch windows. Tomorrow, with SAP, we are hoping to get some efficiencies from this. Of course, as with any chain, it's as strong as it's weakest link. And if we're real-time, but our customer is batch, then all of our efforts are for naught. ...
