Hi,

I also like the idea to push changes to a remote repos in the web.
It seems for me, that a branch in the main repository is the best solution. What do you think?

I also think that, when we set up a shiny new branch, we should start with an new development version of EMC instead of toying around with an old version. Whats about fixing the most serious issues and then switching to a newer EMC version?

Regards, Michael

Agreed. It just seemed that people were nto interested in that for
some reason. My two cents would be to make a formal branch (in the same
repository) and march along. The any changes would be easy to merge in.
If people wanted a temp repository (basically a fork) to hack and then
hand merge later, I could help provide one. As you suggest, a brach is
a much easier thing to administer than fork and backport...

If it doesn't interfere with the other stuff, why not in main

That way it will be easier to test and get the same attention.

We should be able to set up a separate sourceforge repository for
the
effort. If that does not work for people, I would be willing to
host
this on my github account<https://github.com/ebo> or mercurial via
  bitbucket<https://bitbucket.org/john_david>. For either short or
long
term. I would need to know the intent so I plop it in the correct
  places.

  Just let me know.

I downloaded and built, how about getting this into a branch in git
?

And starting to merge things from there ?

There is still some 'funkyness' I run into, I am looking at it.

2011/6/16 Michael Abel<michael.a...@isw.uni-stuttgart.de>:

Hello Folks,

a few days ago I promised to set up a site with my work on the
RT_Preempt
version of EMC together with patches.

The patch has the RT_Preempt patch from Michael Büsch and Jeff
Eppler
already included. I also added and (hopefully) improved some
things.

I had even less time on the last days than I expected.
Accordingly,
there
are still some uncorrected issues, but I try to fix them soon and
post a new
patch version.

Our webspace admin is currently on holidays, so I put the site
temporarily
on my own page.

Here it is: http://www.bitmuster.org/EMC/emcShm.html

Greetings Michael
