True. But they also have to have a reason to search your vehicle and your person, and in most cases you have to give them permission. Don't make yourself a target and drive 80 mph in a 55 etc. Make sure your trailer lights work and it has a plate. That said carrying large sums of cash can be an issue. Suggestion: If you may be doing some dealing/negotiating when you see the machine; try this: Get a certified check from the bank made out to him/her for the lowest amount you will be possibly paying. Get the balance in cash. If you get there and the sale doesn't happen (Machine is junk etc) take the certified check and cash back to your bank and redeposit to your account. If the machine is good, you can negotiate down to the value of your certified check. Your max high price is the certified check plus whatever cash you have. If you get robbed you are out the cash. The check is only good for the person named on it. Most people understand what a certified check is. However you can always ask him if he will accept a certified check before you travel. If you get there when the banks are open you can usually take a certified check into his bank and they will cash it on the spot. I've had sellers do that.
