Might be able to make an impression on balsa. :(

FWIW, I now have that VFD turning the spindle at 100 rpm, and I can't 
stop it by hand. Drawing about 2.6 amps a coil.  Now I'm letting it run 
to see how long it takes to warm the water 10C.

So I believe that problem is solved!

And my VNA kit just walked in the garage door asking for a signature.  
Amazing. Now I have to learn how to run it. Fun and games for old wet 
ram.
