Concerning using staff styles to hide barlines to achieve non-aligned
barlines, this workaround becomes increasingly unworkable the smaller
the common denominator is. Not only do you have Colin's issue of dotted
notes, you have the issue of beams. If the LCD were eighth or smaller
notes (and even possibly quarters), then you would end up wanting beams
that span multiple internal barlines. Not even my Beam Over Barline will
do this, although the final release will have an option that reduces the
problem to manually adjusting the angles.
