It's the reverse in Simple: hit the duration (if it needs to be
changed), play the pitch
And for all others, I think Carolyn Bremer's post to this list on
2008-07-10 19:29 ("Re: [Finale] Finale 2009 Announced") sums it up nicely:
"I asked about Speedy Entry. Tom said that they will not do away with
it until it can be folded into Simple Entry with exactly the same
behavior as it currently has."
Note entry is just one of those features where Finale is in the middle
of a not-yet-complete longterm changing process.
