Fine, suit yourself. But if you don't update the layout in these
circumstances, then you are leaving yourself vulnerable to the very
problem you originally wrote to complain about.
You came to the list and complained you'd been bitten by a nasty bug.
You have been told by several people how to avoid that bug in future.
But you seem to feel that on principle, you shouldn't have to take
those steps. You insist on doing things in the exact same way that led
you to be bitten by the bug in the first place. Okay then. Good luck
