I used to have a problem with the "Danish" form being called an
adjective (or whatever it's called these days), since it translates to a
plural genetive attribute in Finnish (the literal adjective translation
sounds utterly silly in almost all places where Freeciv uses it; a
"Danish ship" is a ship whose is a Danish resident or otherwise clearly
of Danish origin, it doesn't indicate who controls it).
These days, my main interest would lie in having a FAQ or other
documentation for developers and translators alike on what kind of
contexts the two different forms are and can be used.
Like, do not use "Danish" in the meaning "the Danish people", just use
it for "the Danish-controlled submarine". (In nation selection, the
Finnish translation's been "of the Danes" for years, which sounds a bit
silly.) And then standardize these uses (for example, the elimination of
%s's -> "Danes's" or "John's" in favour of Danish).
The Finnish translation both for Danes and Danish starts with a
non-capital letter (tanskalaiset, tanskalaisten), so when I have to use
it in the start of a sentence, I probably just have to hope
capitalization is taken care of somewhere else. ;)
At the moment, I don't think I particularly need more forms or a
renaming of a single form ("Denmark" would be nice for the nation
selection, of course, but not sure if it's worth everyone else's
trouble). I'd need an inflection engine to make a bunch of sentences not
need kludgeing (to the Danish -> tanskalaisille, for the Danish ->
tanskalaisia varten, into Manhattan -> Manhattaniin etc), but that's
beyond Freeciv scope.
