FreeBasic has a rather cool QB compatibility mode and some software in the FreeDOS distro is compiled with DJGPP, but of course without the tons of add-ons available for DJGPP. Not sure which coolness factor FreePascal has, but Pascal certainly was a classic programming language of DOS users.
