The old version did a "busy-waiting". That was bad, when you run it on top of a multi-tasking system in an emulator. It waists cpu-cycles. The new version makes use of the hlt instruction. That puts the cpu to sleep until a hardware interrupt arrives. Furthermore there were 2 files, which didn't have DOS compatible names.
