Right, that seems reasonable! There shouldn't be a difference between a submenu 
and a menu from the 
user's point of view, thus it would be good if ENTER would also work on menus 
not only in submenus.
If you then also use ENTER for selecting a item in a menu instead of SELECT, 
then you could get rid 
of the SELECT key as a must-have key...

I think originally this two keys have been something like left and right mouse 
button, one usually 
gives you an action and the other gives you a menu :-)
