Not necessarily. I can't compare directly, for two reasons -- I haven't even touched a PC in years, and I haven't bought or used any Windows software other than IE on my 1.25 GHz PowerBook G4 with VPC 6 and Win XP Pro. But looking at the specs, it still seems that VPC is emulating a Pentium II chip. Throw a lot of RAM at it and it does its best, but I suspect it's still slower than your current machine.
