Well, I have created a 1GB RAM drive for the Temp temp files and turned off the pagefile so here on in there should be hardly any writes to XP. And the windows 7 OS has trim. It sucks that there is no third party utility to replace trim and/or deal with this in these situations.

Unfortunately yes. :( MSE is generally used as the baseline for a lot of anti-malware tests now. Its level of protection is considered poor. I now run both MalwareBytes Premium and Kaspersky (just the basic anti-virus) on my systems. BitDefender is also highly rated. MBAM is probably the more effective product for today's threats, but it's not an anti-virus and shouldn't be used alone. -----Original Message----- From: Hardware [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Winterlight Sent: Saturday, August 2, 2014 7:42 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [H] SSD and XP ? >Same goes for MSE, since >it has turned to crap.
