I have always believed that MSE's primary reason to exist was piracy.

MSE is generally used as the baseline for a lot of anti-malware tests now.
Its level of protection is considered poor. I now run both MalwareBytes
Premium and Kaspersky (just the basic anti-virus) on my systems. BitDefender
is also highly rated. MBAM is probably the more effective product for
today's threats, but it's not an anti-virus and shouldn't be used alone.

Do you mean in Windows 7 as well as XP? Don't tell me we have to go back to
screwing around with third party AV software.
