Ok folks- here's the follow up! I thought it was quiet- but not so
sure now...
If you follow this link-
http://lasco-www.nrl.navy.mil/daily_mpg/090707_c3.mpg
you will get the SOHO movie of a CME on the 7th July 2009.
It is not pointing towards Earth, but crosses Mercurys' line of
sight -[ the winged messenger ,say no more] only just as it comes into
the cameras field of view!
Note: This camera has a blanked out sun core to protect the optics -so
we will not see anything heading our way.
In any case, a CME heading for us would be blanked by the suns glare-
as there is no deep space to view it against.
Bear in mind the size of this CME core is much larger than Earth- so
would have had some impact if heading for us.
The ionised outer flare is larger than the sun as it expands away.
For highter resolution try this
http://sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/data_query_search_movie
but it's not really worth using the slower 1024 res. option.
I think I get the message- Don't mess with this stuff!
To add to the mystery and guile of this event- the view of the sun
corona leading up to this period which would show 'toward earth
pointing' activity- is missing from the database.
http://lasco-www.nrl.navy.mil/daily_mpg/
The closest data http://lasco-www.nrl.navy.mil/daily_mpg/090705_eit_195.mpg
shows direct on activity pointing at earth from the 5thJuly- and is
quite a large flare in the suns lower hemisphere- It would however
have taken some days to reach earth had it been in our direct plane.
I wonder why the data for the 6th is missing? This would show earth
directed activity prior to the 7thJuly.
The author from the original article thinks now that this solar
activity gives credence to the Circle prediction- and I agree.
I see it as a double warning that we have history to look back on -and
the present data from technology to keep us on guard.
We are nothing like as all powerful as we sometimes think. Clever- but
not always so' wise enough' , Before the Event..
As to our belief system and trust in our Gov't for whatever the future
may bring- that is something for the quiet hours to elucidate and time
alone to enlighten.
