want to look at more than one page at once? Isn't that what the "back
arrow" or whatever it's called is for?
There are two definitions for tabbed browsing. Microsoft's definition
(they have a patent for this) is using the tab key to cycle through the
available links on a page. The definition we're discussing here,
however, is where a single window can have multiple "tabs" open, each
one displaying a separate web page. See Apple's "Safari" web page for
an example:

I personally have a need to have multiple pages open at once. I am a
web application developer by trade, and I used to need multiple windows
to display my various web applications. Now I can get them all into a
single window, if I desire. And yes, sometimes I still use multiple
windows, but the ability to get by with fewer windows is tremendous.
