Contrary to Charles' assertion, Apple has sold both Panther and Tiger

As much as I hate to say it, but St. Charles is correct. The version that Apple sells
needs to be updated as soon as you install it.

Needing to be upgraded doesn't mean it came on DVDs! I'm not sure what Ken is trying to say.

In fact, I just checked my disks. We all know Tiger came on DVD and had to be traded in +$20 for a CD, so Tiger CDs are a rare beast, but my copy of Panther - boxed up by Apple & sold by CompUSA - came on CDs.

I don't know if Panther came on DVD, but I can guarantee it came on CD through regular retail outlets.
