Is it really wasting time?
Someone out there on the Internet received what they considered to be
spam. It had a URL to the website of one of your customers. Although it
might have been a hoax or actually legitimate mail, in most cases that
would indicate that a spammer was using your website to profit from their
spam. Most ISPs do not want to be part of this.

True. And I don't think you should be held responsible for this, but if
you are providing the service, you have to decide whether or not to allow
spammers to use it. If you will allow them to, then ignore those E-mails
from SpamCop. If you don't allow them to, then take action. In this case,
action may simply be letting the reporter of the spam know that it wasn't
really spam.

If you didn't get those inquiries from SpamCop, they would come directly
from the recipient of the spam. SpamCop just provides an easy reporting
mechanism.

I don't believe that they list mail servers of spamvertised web sites (if
so, how would they know which mailserver(s) to add?). In fact, checking
SpamCop's database shows 0 spams reported for your mailserver.
So the spamvertised web site reporting and the SPAMCOP test seem to be
completely separate.
