I've always hated a position like that. When I buy Internet access then
*that* it what I buy. Why would my ISP dictate what I can do with it other
then not using it for illegal purposes (spam, virus etc.)? At home I have a
756/128kbit ADSL line that I use for whatever. I have specifically selected
an ISP that will not interfere with what I do and not block any ports just
because they like to.

Fortunatly, I had that choice. I even can, and have, change my rDNS, but I
have friends who use a different ISP and can not do so. Mybe those ISP's
will now start to let thier customers change the rDNS but maybe they are as
brunt as AOL and simply state that an ADSL line is simply there to browse
the net on port 80, get the mail on port 110 and that's it. To bad if you
realy want to use your internet connection, that's not what they are there
for. :-(
