Ipswitch support Actually found an answer for me... The mailbox file was
corrupt

1. Open the affected mailbox in IMAP client
2. Create "NEW" folder
3. Move all messages from affected folder into new folder.
4. Logout of mailbox, Return to Server directory structure.
5. Delete "Main.mbx" (or whatever folder was the problem)
6. Rename "New.mbx" to "main.mbx"
7. Delete the Main.uid, Main.srt, New.uid, new.srt files if they exist.

This should fix it. They told me they never heard of this problem
before.

Hi Jim

I have had exactly the same problem for over a month now with users
unable to delete mail using webmail and some of those users complaining
heatedly that IMail has removed a large chunk of their inboxes!

I have tried the following:

Examining for temp or locked files - none.

Checked that the problem is WebMail as IMail client run on the server
deletes correctly.

Saved only the *.mbx files and deleted the user, cleared the directory,
added the user back and copied over the *.mbx files - the problem
remained.

Deleted all the index files and forced a rebuild - problem remained.

The users concerned are fuming and I am now at my wits end. I have been
speaking with Christian at Ipswitch but he has not found a solution.

The problem only seemed to start when I upgraded to V8 - I wonder?

All the very best

Mike Forbes
