Hmmm...not trying to prolong this, but as several have pointed out, that's
only half of the issue. Fragmenting the support by having some use the web
interface and others use the email list, _with_no_interaction_between_them_,
is a big part of the issue. Then the users of the web forum do not benefit
from the many experts who volunteer their time here, and the users here do
not benefit from the participation of those in the forum. I doubt any of us
has the time to start checking both places now.

So, as mentioned before, this is only beneficial if there is a conduit
between the two systems to keep both in sync.

Also, as several have pointed out, there is an existing forum that can be
searched effectively via google and has threads.

Darin.

Ok guys PLEASE read Trip's statement below and note last sentence 1st
paragraph this list is NOT GOING AWAY:

There will be an official announcement, probably tomorrow. These new forums
have many features which may serve some users better, but we recognize that
while some people like this type of system others do not. We do encourage
everyone to give the new forums a try, but we do not plan to eliminate this
mailing list.

We have asked about importing the archived list posts but I have been told
that we can't. I personally have never dealt with this type of forum
system, so I don't know if there are any other methods to import the
archives. If anyone has experience with this please let me know.

Tripp

* bicker, bicker, bicker.*

How about a list to debate the forums or mail list? This is getting silly.

Do we have any facts? Is Ipswitch killing the mail list?
