Somewhere along the line, we've got to choose one to start with.
Given the close alignment with what Solaris is and is likely
to be, and the available community, gnome seems like the
most obvious choice as the starting point.
I would expect adding an alternative like KDE to be a simple
operation - all it takes is making the packages available.
And given that it's a stated goal of Indiana to allow others to
leverage the work to make derivative distributions, you should
be able to build Kindiana, if you so desire. Do you want to do
that?
