I never advocated that one and only one WM be supplied.  I advocated
just the opposite. No poll is needed. Time will tell which WM survives.

OK, then, if you are opposed to taking a poll -- which would be the
only objective means of determining the community-at-large's view on
this matter --  and you are just willing to present the GNOME decision
as a "community decision", you are free to do so, but don't expect it
to be perceived for more than it is: a decision made by a small number
of individuals with no consideration for the wishes of the community.

That's fine, as long as we all understand what it really is: anything
but a community-driven decision process. And as long as this state of
affairs persists, the entire process will be subject to suspicion of
unfairness.
