If you want Linux w/ ZFS, run Nexenta. It sounds like it does exactly what you want. That isn't a bad thing at all, and that's why Nexenta exists. Many people wanted a GNU userland, modern packaging system and ZFS on top. I don't see much point in the Indiana project doing anything if it is just going to clone Nexenta's work...
