I live in Ohio and the state does not mandate vacation pay to be paid. You earn it at a certain clip like .83 days per month, but if you leave the company, they don't have to pay it to you. Most will out of good will, but one company didn't pay me for 3 weeks of vacation I had accrued. I was able to get them to let me take a week off of work, but still, that was a very rude surprise.
