well, glad it worked for you, you're problem/access to the ribbon menu,
didn't sound right to me!
so I had a hunch, 
to minimize the bribbon in my office program/word2007.

I was able to duplacate your findings,

Wow, this worked!  Now the ribbon menus seem to work the way they are 
supposed to.  Now when I scroll to the Mailings tab and press tab once, I
