Icarus disobeyed his father, Daedalus, who warned him not to fly either too
high or too low.

Icarus' wings were made by his father and adhered to Icarus by wax. It was
the wax that melted, the wings fell off and he plummeted to earth.

This subject matter is well depicted in the world of art to depict the
virtues of moderation. In some cases it also represented the difficulties
of spiritual ascent.

Wonderful job, Catherine. Thanks for taking the time
to write and polish this. You too, Bob.
