Yes, along with several others.

They would be part of a base distribution, yes.

The thought is that given the central role these scripts play, and the fact
that LRP (and derrived distributions) can somewhat be considered
stripped-down linux with a bunch of custom scripts, the scripts deserve to
be archived and maintained in a consistent manner.  By migrating the scripts
to CVS, it becomes possible for more than one developer to easily make
changes and update the 'official' release.

One major issue is exactly how to structure things:  i.e. are your heavily
modified scripts a branch from 2.9.[7|8] or a new tree?

Maybe this is all overkill for a handful of shell scripts, but since these
are really what make LRP possible, and there are a very LARGE number of
shell-scripts (POSIXness, my script based web-server, the entire menu
configuration system, linuxrc, etc, etc), IMHO some sort of revision
control/archive tool is warrented, and CVS is readily available through SF.
