Pete,
        I assume you have
PRINTER_0_DEVICE   = /dev/lp0
PRINTER_0_TYPE     = P
in the lts.conf. CUPS doesn't get into play here, the key is to get the
telnet to connect on port 9100, or another port - you can select the
number. Make sure you are not blocking telnet on the firewall, too. Bad
lp0 device is another possibility. julius
