Me too, except I tried to make it world usable, instead of only installing it in each user's $HOME directory. This failed horribly. In its current state (without playing with it alot more), I don't think it can be used except on a user-by-user basis. > That's why I said it was far from being stable - this is personal > experience, not gossip :-) > > It LOOKS just like XP, and the developer has even bothered to duplicate > the Task Manager, even down to processor performance graphs etc. But > that's about all that has been done. > > All the menus (right-click on desktop, taskbar etc) all LOOK the same, > but clicking on them does nothing. > > I believe his main aim has been to make something look like XP, and > build in the functionality later. > > Anyway, after launching a few apps it all dies horribly... I second that. I've had it running for quite some time now (a few hours) by not trying to do anything with the windows, but just using my VNC session inside one of the windows. It allows most keystrokes through, so I'm actually able to use Alt-Tab inside VNC (finally). But that doesn't bode well for the XPde window manager (feature to be added later, I suppose). - -- Jason A.
