Friends who tried to post in the past 12 hours: my apologies.

I had turned advertising off, thinking that it would be a while into the
month before we would use up 5000 credits. Problem is: another listserv on
the same account, used by a local non-profit organization, has 6 times as
many people as this one, and they had to issue a few correction emails,
and boom, the credits were used up, which I didn't realize. (not to
mention that this listserv is pretty active too.)

I once asked the big non-profit to switch to a different list, and in
fact, someone at Caliper asked me as well (and my apologies for not
responding.) to switch to yahoo groups. (egroups). But inertia wins! And
though Egroups probably provides better service, for years their ads were
more noticeable, so I stayed with Listbot. We've already got our current
list indexed and searchable at mail-archive.com, and we already have a
data-repository at directionsmag.com, so two of the yahoo functions all
already accomodated.

Blah, blah, blah, and gab, gab, gab, in any case, for now, it's just
easier to use this listbot system, turn the ads back on, and I'll pay for
an account allowing ad-free mailings, because for some reason I can't
stand ads. Please don't worry about "sponsoring" this. Honestly, I've got
6 listservs on this account that are too much of a pain in the whatever to
switch to a different system, and I'm happy to support them. For the
record, they are the board of the Maryland League of Conservation Voters
(the C3 and C4), the CPHA Transportation Committee, the Baltimore Regional
Partnership (that's the biggie) and the Mayor's Bicycle Advisory
Committee.

So,

1. Folks to tried to post before: try again, and you'll be fine.

1. I'm paying for additional credits so that posting problems don't happen
again.

2. Ads'll be there until I do that.

3. Take your likely instinct to want to sponsor this listserv, and use
those resources to add utilities to our data repository, to provide
helpful responses to people, and to bring peace and joy to earth.
(or, unwitting plug: give directly to your favorite League of
Conservation Voters in your area)
