Hi Mark: You say you have lost faith in the "Leninist strategy" dating from 1917. But it is strange to me then, that you retain faith in something going back even much older. . . which still has not succeeded.
For Michael M's original piece from 2020 that was cited by Alan G states: "how is this going to work? Who will determine what a “fair” wage is for workers? -- what a fair price is for drugs? How do you democratically control an economy? . . . This is what happened once we embarked on our effort to create a (somewhat) Democratic Republic in 1787. The American Democratic political system proved to be a work in progress". Of course my comments are merely those that you would expect any Leninist to say, I know. There are several weaknesses and several historical glosses on the whole strand in my view. I do not propose to start on those. I again must ask - as I asked Michael - and as Marv more recently re-stated in a differing wording (at least as I understand him in Marv Gandall #39488 ): "What I do not see is *how this is achieved?* Can you tell us your view - does it require a seizure of power, and does that require force? What role does the DSA vision have in this?" Michael basically replied to me that he did not know; I do not think I am putting words into his mouth.
