I'm not questioning Leninism because it's old, Hari, but because I think it has failed us since the Russian Revolution. The Leninism that arrived in the US in the 1920s came from the Comintern rather from the pre-revolution Bolshevik party. Comintern leaders like Zinoviev got to say what was Leninism and what was not. Comintern Leninists eventually came to pick and remove national leaders over the heads of the CP memberships. Comintern Leninism is not consistent with the writings of Lenin. Trotsky's Leninism has produced numerous family trees of "Leninist" groups that were created by the many splits of Leninist/Trotskyist groups and splits from the splits. These groups tend to have a perennial leader who always sit at the head of the organization decade after decade. Or perhaps a pair of central leaders or a troika, as in the SWP case until the forever chairman got rid of the other two before transferring assets to his personal account. I have been in several "left" organizations, Leninist and not, but I have not been in an organization with an effective relationship between members and leaders.
