My first comment is if you can't have it fixed under the manufacturer's
guarantee, but it is covered for loss on your holiday insurance, take
it with you, but remember to take your MD out of the unit before losing
it / having it stolen / whatever. Please note: I do not condone insurance
fraud (ahem, Ahem, ***AHHHHEEEMMMMMMMMM***, Ahem). No I
really don't condone "using" rich insurance companies-- it's both immoral
and illegal. Then again, if your knackered 701 is left in full view of lots
of locals by "accident", then you should make a claim.

May I stress again that I do not condone insurance fraud.

And I'd like to offer a bit of very biased advice-- go for the Sony MZ-R50
for a recordable portable after your current unit goes for a walk. Dump
Sharp and switch to the Sony range and you won't regret it. You even
get a feature no other units have, the "End Search".

Cheers,

ermmm, ummmm. Never mind.
