I am *almost* certain that this rumor originated with people who  
swapped in a manual, and kept
the stock differential. Because the manual transmission has much  
higher gears than the auto
the car become sluggish unless the gear ratio is changed. I REALLY  
doubt that it has anything
to do with the turbocharger...
