I don't see a replacement engine as the way to go about that. If it needs it 
rebuild/repair what you've got. You know how its been treated so its a better 
platform for repair. A new to you engine comes with an unknown history...

True, I am counting on the last and last part. I also want to be prepared
so that in another 100k miles I have the engine/transmission to replace and
get another 500k miles out of the wagon. If I love that long...
