I sat down with Dan Rickard at his house a few years ago, to go through and compare his collection of minty whites with their corresponding authentic originals. It was *very* educational. In almost all cases, the combination of grainier and frequently darker images, incorrect art crop, photographic defects, printed on paper that is too 'fine grained' and yes, too white, damned the imposters immediately. As Allen said, it's very obvious when you compare them side by side.
