If I were replacing and $$ was not a problem, I too would use the Tacktick 
system (referred to by Pat G. as the Tick Tack, but after looking at the 
brochures and price, don't see anything Ticky Tacky about it.  ; )

I replaced in the last yr. with Tick Tack. Uk Co. and wireless. I can
take it off cockpit mount and put away in cover it comes with. An
the gauge is solar powered. Love it. Pat G.

We havethe ST60 Tridata, that has temp, knotmeter and depth. I think 
the depth is the most important, as we use the GPS for speed and 
direction, however I would suggest having a mechanical lighted 
compass on the bulkhead.
