Now I do believe there are rpm java files on the net somewhere , you might try typing java into the www.rpmfind.net web search engine and see what comes up for downloading. Install them and see it they work.
However I resolved the issue by removing the mandrake mozilla version and went out to mozilla direct and downloaded the short little download programme that resides there, you run that programme follow the instructions and you end up with the lates mozilla v1,0 . Then you go out to a website that requires java, they nearly all do these days, and again the message pops up to go download again the java script plugin, I think it's called java realtime something or other , this one works.
