I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Ryan rocks. Thanks for all the
hard work.
I just picked up 'What Lies Beneath' and plan on running my players through
it for a playtest session. Should be interesting. Unfortunately they were
out of stock in the Creature Collection, 3D2K, and Death in Freeport.
While I was in the store I asked the owner what he thought of the new 'third
party D&D stuff', and he and I talked for about 20 minutes, reminiscing
about the Judges Guild and how it was in the 'old days'. He was very
pleased with the quality of the material from all of the publishers, and was
looking forward to seeing more material.
On that note, I was wondering if the commercial publishers would be
interested in discussing the costs surrounding their publication efforts,
and the stages they went through when developing a new product for
publication? I'm not looking for trade secrets or detailed financials, but
I think it would be of great interest to authors who are thinking about
publishing. It might also convince them that they should go through one of
you guys instead...
