Personally, this is my opinion also. I >strongly< believe that such an
archive would AT WORST cost the producer a couple of measley sales to other
developers. IMO it would foster rather than hinder sales - because the use
of OGL would be advanced, and this is good for everybody - more choices for
the consumer, a bigger market, and more interest.
A rising tide lifts EVERYBODY.
Further, the content posted would be dry extracts.
To use an analogy, without artwork, layout, and PI it would be as if all
that NAPSTER ever did was post recordings of William F. Buckley reading
Motley Crue's and Metallica's lyrics in a dry monotone.
Might make interesting listening for a while, but I don't think it would
impact sales een a little.
