manual focus on the LCD isn't very useful on any digital camera i have used. it's not high enough resolution and there isn't a digital zoom-in to any part of the image capture area for increasing focusing precision. i use my LCD for composing when i have an adapter lens or filters attached and when i am making manual settings to any of the controls. if i am not doing any of these, i have the LCD turned off.
