Anthony It's understandable you being cheesed off but, in Adobe's defence, they do offer free technical advice for a limited period (I remember seeing it somewhere but have never used the service; have a look in the documentation). To offer it for the lifetime of the product would be uneconomic. The kind of problem that you describe, in my experience, doesn't suddenly happen. It's usually because some change in your OS has taken place or you have installed another app or driver. You can't really blame Adobe for not seeing far enough ahead. That's why I said to try shutting down all utilities in the background. However, if it's a driver conflict, that won't help. If non of these factors are causing the problem, a reinstall may solve it. The fact is, the healing brush and the patch tool works fine on millions of machines, which means the problem is machine specific. If the tools have been working fine on your machine in the past, that points to a change or a corruption. > I'd been thinking of upgrading to CS but I'm frankly cheesed > off with Adobe. Is Corel a viable alternative? Don't ditch the baby with the bathwater, is my advice. <g> Shangara Singh. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- :: Photoshop CS Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) :: Photoshop CS Essential Tips && ACE Exam Aids && Glossary :: http://www.photoshopace.com && http://www.examaids.com =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
