I am disappointed, and I don't see how that's an optimum solution for *anybody*. It has drawbacks even for PL (which is not to say that a metapackage approach may not have different ones). Still, the decision has been made. It's good to at least know what's coming. Just so we're clear, please understand that I will *not* be building or using AIO packages with *any* combination of components. I can't speak for anyone else, but the best way to support *my* needs within this scheme is to continue to provide a separate source downloads for each PL component involved, and to provide good documentation of external dependencies and how everything fits together. Additionally, avoiding hardcoded paths and avoiding the assumption that Puppet has a private Ruby to play around in will be helpful (and wise in any case).
