<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the qrplist gang
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey Carl and the gang;
Jeff and Thom are right that you messed up here Carl.
AND I still think the ARRL is using Article 11 in a low and underhanded
way that reflects poorly on them as well.
Also you are right that the code issue has become moot. (My words, BTW,
not yours.)
BUT.....you messed up on this.
Nonetheless, and while we disagree about the code issue, you still should
have been allowed to run for Director. Heck, if I lived in the Atlantic
division I would have had a chance to vote against you !! And that would
have been fun.
If there is a next time for you Carl, make sure to disavow your
connections to groups that influence your ability to properly represent
Amateur Radio. And then be up front as possible about these prior
influences. Right now it DOES look like you were hiding your past
involvements.
I guess the lesson here for all of us is that you cannot be too careful
when you are trying to hide something, as someone will catch you at it.
And you should never let it appear that you are hiding something in your
past. You will get caught.
(And no I do want to argue about whether you intended or not to hide
something. Personally I think that the time has past to discuss that.)
